Smartcard authentication is better than passwords

Authentication to operating systems, or applications, using passwords is the worst method regarding security, usability and administration.

In addition to the risk of someone gaining unauthorized access to your confidential information by deducing your password, complexity of passwords and the shear number of passwords that users have nowadays leads them to use password lists and also to share passwords with others.  Costs associated with password administration should also be taken into consideration.
